mgts24
I am in the process of processing my first project, but RTI Builder is asking me to "specify your HSH Fitter path". I understood that HSH fitter was "included" with RTI Builder, by which I assumed it meant that it was integral to the software. I cannot find it anywhere. No other files were included in the RTI Builder software download (Mac). Any ideas? Thanks Michael
cdschroer
Michael - You are correct that the hshfitter is included with RTiBuilder, so the default path should work fine. Are you sure you didn't acidentally change the path? Can you upload the project log file that was generated with this project .xml We may be able to figure out something from that. mgts24
Hello Carla, I didn't enter anything in the fitter path box , the error message came up straight away as I worked through the steps. I have attached the XML file. I should add that when I initially got the error message indicating that the software could not find the fitter file, and asked me to specify it, I did enter the location of the RTI Builder application folder. By the way, I have since run the same jegs through the PTM sequence and got an error message as well after indicating the path for the PTM fitter file. Help! mgts24
Here is the xmlfile for the PTM failed attempt Thanks Michael Scallop-PTM.xml
cdschroer
Michael - As soon as I looked at the xml file, your problem became clear. You can't have spaces anywhere in the pathname for your project and images. I know that RTiBuilder should issue a more useful error message, and for the upcoming 3.0.0 release, it wil do that. Most of the time when RTIBuilder fails to build he file this is the problem. I was confused by the fitter not found error, so didn't suggest this right away. Please note also the the HSHfitter is not in the RTIBuilder.app file (well it is, but you can't point the path to there) On Macs, the .app designation is really a special kind of folder where other files can be packaged together. If you use the Finder you can right click on an app and choose "show package contents" to see the folder structure inside. For HSH you will need to have the original path in there which should be this: /Applications/RTIbuilder-v2.0.2.app/Contents/Resources/Java/Fitters/HSHfitter/hshfitter Please see this entry: /http://forums.culturalheritageimaging.org/index.php?/topic/72-the-feared-unknown-error-message-in-rti-builder/ And also the Guide to Highlight Image Capture Pg 3: File and Folder Conventions Carla
mgts24
Thanks Carla. I will make the changes and hope that does it. Regards Michael
mgts24
Carla, I have pasted the path you supplied, but Builder is still saying to verify the HSHfitter path. It is doing the same for the PTMfitter. Would you confirm the correct path for the latter as well please. Thanks Michael
cdschroer
Did you remove all of the spaces from the path name?? That is the core issue. The other was just a note about the hshfitter path, because you said you had changed it. Please note that you cannot work from your desktop on a windows machine because the desktop is in a folder called "documents and settings" with spaces. There can be no spaces anywhere in the path or filenames. There were many spaces throughout the pathname found in your .xml file. Also, in this case once you move your project folder somewhere without spaces, you can reload an existing project, and point to the .xml file for that project. It will ask if you want to reset the project path, because the files have moved. Say, "yes" and you should be good to go (look at notes on reprocessing a data set on the last page of the User Guide. mgts24
Hello Carla, I am only now getting the "anywhere in the path" aspect of spaces. Sorry about that. I will have one more go tonight. Fingers crossed. Thanks for all your help. Cheers Michael
mgts24
Hello Carla, Hooray! Success. You're right, it must have been all the spaces. Thank you again, and sorry for my lack of knowledge getting in the way. Thank you for the great software, kit, and support. I shall sleep well tonight Regards Michael
