  1. It is simply the stationary point of the paraboloid described by the 6 coefficients. The formula is described in the original PTM paper: http://www.hpl.hp.com/research/ptm/papers/ptm.pdf
  2. I have tested the file but I'm not able to find a computer to reproduce the problem. All computers that I tested show the image correctly. What are the features of your computer (CPU and GPU)?
  3. In order to be sure, if you save a snapshot with the tool of the viewer the image has the right color but the main window shows the problem. Do you have the possibility to share with us the RTI file? It can be very important to understand where is the problem.
  4. As Carla says, the problem is the file that you try to open. Maybe it has been corrupted during the download or the creation. I use the viewer on Windows 8.1 without any problems. Can you share with me any other files that you are not able to open? Regards Gianpaolo
  5. The viewer is currently used in a museum kiosk for the interactive presentation at the public of a coin collection. The kiosk is available online at the following link: http://vcg.isti.cnr.it/PalazzoBlu/ The first part presents the collection and the coins of the collection. Then for each coin there is the possibility to interact with the RTI images of observe and reserve. In addition to the standard interaction (pan, zoom and light) there is the possibility to flip the coin and to activate the visualization of some hotspots that give the possibility to read additional information about the most interesting details of the coin engraving. The kiosk is installed inside the museum and it is available online at the following link: http://vcg.isti.cnr.it/PalazzoBlu/ (it requires WebGL) >> December 2013 Release of the tool to publish and visualize high resolution RTI images on the web using WebGL. 7. They use my library for the web RTI visualization (http://vcg.isti.cnr.it/~palma/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=research) without any kind of acknowledgement :-( . I think they have only integrated my code and changed the minimal GUI to interact with the image.
  8. It is a simple web viewer to allow the visualization of RTIs on the web, in order to disseminate some results to a general public (no expert). For the advanced viewing options there is always the new version of the RTIViewer. In the future it could be extended but there is the problem that the available computational resources in the web browsers are limited
