About Me

Musa Salih Muhammad, Born in Soba-Zaria, Nigeria, first studied Quranic education, obtained Higher Islamic Certificate, Diploma in Sharia and Civil Law and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Local Government Administration. He also has a Postgraduate course in International Relations and Diplomacy from Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna, Postgraduate Program in Information Management and a Masters Degree in Information Management all at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria. Muhammad attended Professional Courses in IT (Master Professional at the African Virtual University, Certificate in Guidance and Counseling in Higher Education, National University Commission [VHIEP] and also Certificate in Empowering Students with Special Needs at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria. He has worked as a teacher, and later Arabist /Archivist at National Archives of Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Kaduna from November 1989 to May 2000. Presently, he is the Chief Archivist and Head of Archives and Arabic Manuscripts Collection, at the Arewa House Centre for Historical Documentation and Research, Ahmadu Bello University, Kaduna, Nigeria. His areas of interest/research include cataloguing, Preservation, Conservation of archival materials/Records management and Islamic Manuscripts. In 2013 he received grant from the Islamic Manuscripts (TIMA) for Arewa House Arabic Manuscripts Catalog Project. He has in addition to these attended conferences and workshops at the local and international levels such as those in Ethiopia (2010), South Africa (2014), United Kingdom (2014 and 2016) and Mali (2015 and 2017). Germany (2016) SOIMA International Course on Sustaining Sound and Image organised by ICCROM and Institute of African Studies University of Ghana 2017
