AlanCrew
Hello, I would like to have an object I found subjected to RTI please. I am more than happy to pay for the service. I spoke to someone at the Smithsonian who offered their services on the condition I donate it to them. I have no problem donating it but only after I know what it is; if that's even possible to deduce. The object in question is a lead coin/token or small weight, approx. 1 1/2" in diameter and 3/8 inch thick. Being made of a soft metal it is obviously very worn. There is small anchor or pick on one side (reverse) and a very faint image of a face on the obverse. It was found on the Island of St Agnes, one of the many small Islands in the Isles of Scilly, just off the SW coast of the UK; an area well known for ship wrecks. I took it to the local archaeologist who could not identify it and presuming it was worthless left it in my possession. I am happy to email photos to anyone interested. Thx Alan
