Close range photogrammetry for distance measuring

I might not be on the right website, but this seems like the only photogrammetry forum I could find.
I am very new to photogrammetry but have become interested in CRP.
I am hoping to be able to make a range finder for measuring distances real time using photogrammetry.
Ideally it would be based on a Linux system, but at this stage I'd just like to learn some of the basics.
Any help to get pointed in the right direction would be appreciated.

Take a look at our photogrammetry technology page on our website. It covers some basics.  We are about to release some additional updates to that page with more tips for how to shoot a good photogrammetry sequence.
